It's a Crafters Companion Challenge # 5

Firstly i would just like to Congratulate Ildiko for winning the lovely prize that Rachel has kindly donated for challenge #4 well done Ildiko.

Secondly i cant believe that we are on our 5Th challenge already at "It's a Crafters Companion Challenge Blog". The sketch for this fortnight was designed by little old me and i wanted the colour Blue to be added to the sketch. For my sample i have used the Men's Collection for the backing papers and the rubber stamp i have used for my image also belongs to the Men's Collection. The sentiment is from Crafters Companion which i believe came out for the Occasions Cd. The image and sentiment have been stamped with Versamark ink and then embossed with Blue embossing powder, gems from stash.

As always if you would like to join us in this challenge all you have to do is make sure you have something visible from the Crafters Companion range on you card. Why don't you check out the lovely samples from the other Dt members and submit your card while you're there. We will have a prize of some kind but up to now we're not sure if it will be a prize from Crafters Companion or a mystery prize again which would be kindly donated by Wendy. Christmas Cards

Here are to days cards, simple but nice and quick to make which is just what i need at the minute.

Base white card is from my stash and everything else came in the last Docrafts goody bag, i have loads of these bags i buy each one as it comes out but never get around to using the lovely things inside of them, so i thought i better use some of the things up to show my Hubby that i do need these things and i don't always store things away in my craft cupboard and forget that i have them..... i think all crafters are guilty of doing this or is it just me? Lol

I used my Cuttlebug to cut around the tree with the oval nestie.

Wedding Aniversary

I haven't posted much lately as i have been so busy with other things but i needed to make a card for my Brother and his Wife as it's their Wedding Anniversary on Monday and this is the card i came up with. I used the swirls folder for my cuttlebug and the hearts two step die also for the cuttlebug. Sentiment was computer generated and cut out with circle nesties.

Firstly i would like to congratulate Louise for winning the lovely Popcorn Bear stamp that Sara kindly donated for the 3rd It's a Crafters Companion Challenge well done Louise.

Now for our next challenge.

Christine has designed the sketch for our 4Th challenge and we had to use ribbons and brads on our cards, thank you Christine i have loved using this sketch and i will use it again. The Cd i have used for this card is from Crafters Companion "Oriental" the papers and Chinese Proverbs are from Cd 2 and i thought i would use purple as that's Crafters Companion colours. I also used the coordinating stamps, the butterflies have been stamped onto lilac vellum with Versamark ink then heat embossed with clear embossing powder i then coloured them with my Sakura glitter pens.

I took part of the sketch and the bits of papers i had left over and put them inside of the card to match.

Popcorn the Bear Christmas Collection

Here are some of my samples that i made for Sara for the launch of Popcorn the Bear Christmas Collection last night, not all of them got shown as there were so many gorgeous samples. I didn't get a chance to put them on last night as i have been having mega problems with my computer but its sorted now as the nice insurance people have replaced it with a lovely new one because they couldn't fix it and my Hubby set it up for me last night while i watched the fab shows on Create and Craft and Steph mentioned my name how good was that!. I just hope i get the hang of the new computer as its Vista.

Well it's soon come around for "It's a Crafters Companion 3rd Challenge" and Sara from Crafters Companion has kindly donated a Popcorn the Bear stamp for the prize, for this sketch we had to add gems/sparkle thank you Jane for a great sketch . For my sample i thought i would do a Christmas card that's one less i have to make lol, so i got out Saras earlier Cd and used the Quick Cards for Christmas . The papers and image are from CD 2, ribbon and gems are from my stash and i used my oval nesties and added some glitter to the pears in the tree. It's a Crafters Companion Challenge # 2

This is my take on the second challenge for "It's a Crafters Companion Challenge Blog". I have used the car stamp from the Boys stamp set that goes with the Boys 'N' Girls Cd's. The papers are from the Occasion CD (Autumn and Winter). I used the L plates from the Cute Companions Summer Stories Outdoor stamp set and stamped them 6 times then cut them in half before sticking them in opposite corners of the card. Pop on over and have a look at the other DT members cards everyone of them are lovely and why don't you have a go at the challenge while your there. You can buy the Cd's and stamps from Crafters Companion.

1ST Christmas Card For 2009

Well i thought i would make a start on some Christmas cards so this is my card for today. I love the shape of this card and its so easy to make, when its folded up it fits into a C6 envelope. I stamped the snowmen onto white card and coloured them with copic marker pens then i used my cuttlebug to cut the circle around them with circle nesties. The snow flakes have been cut with a x-cut die from light blue card. Papers are from stash. The greeting is one from Cute Companions Wonderful Christmas stamp set available from Crafters Companion.

Not been blogging much just lately as i have been looking after my mam and Dad, my Mam has been in and out of hospital the last couple of weeks so i have been coming and going and not been able to do much with my blog. But at last i have managed to make a card. I own one Promarker and i used it on this card, i must say i don't like them as much as Copic Markers. The image is from Cuddly Buddly and the sentiment is a stamp that came free with the Docrafts magazine i stamped it onto pink shrink plastic the papers are from Papermania. I used the large oval Nestabilities and ran them through my Cuttlebug.

This is today's card i thought i would join in on the Just Magnolia Challenge, papers are from K&Company Classic K Bailey range.Ribbon from my stash flowers and circle made with a scallop punch and the image has been coloured with Copic Markers, i am getting better at colouring the face lol.

I took the papers into the inside of the card and used a punch on the paper in the corners.

I thought i would have a go at Wendy's Sketch Challenge this week and Daisy and Dandelion Challenge which the theme just happened to be With Love so i manged 2 challenges with the one card. I used a 5" square card the lilac card is cut at 4" and then i used a Woodware border punch on the four sides,ribbon from my stash patterned paper is from the Daisy & Dandelion paper pack and the image is the Daisy stamp from the same range i cut the shank of the back of a button and stuck it to the same patterned paper as the sentiment is on.

Inside of the card Daisy & Dandelion papers, Nestabilities label die used in my cuttlebug.

Well i have been to the old peoples home again today to show them how to make cards and it was brilliant. The ladies and Gents absolutely loved making the cards and cant wait till next week to make more, this is the card we made today. My there are some lovely characters and the stories they have been telling me did make me laugh one lady called Lil is just adorable said my Husband was in the room next door with her friend and that she thought they maybe up to something that they shouldn't lol. I cant wait to go next week just to see there faces light up when they see me, they all remember what card they did the week before (i forgot to take a picture of last weeks card) they made such a good job. I cut the elements out and they copy my card to put it together. The cards are easy for them to do as most of them have arthritis in their hands.

I posted this on Crafters Companion forum yesterday, i came across it while reading another forum and i thought it was such a lovely story i just had to post it on my blog. These brave Men and Women need all the support they can get.

Last week I was in West London attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen. Moving through the terminal was a group of soldiers in their uniforms, as they began heading to their gate everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red blooded Briton who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families. Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work, and enjoy our home without fear or reprisal. Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our service men and women a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran up to one of the male soldiers. He knelt down and said 'hi,' the little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her. The young soldier didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek. The mother of the little girl, who said her daughters name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Corporal and had been in Afghanistan for 5 months now. As the mum was explaining how much her daughter, Courtney, missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up. When this temporarily single mum was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it. After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, 'I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you.' He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a Kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying 'Your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon.' The mum at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet he saluted Courtney and her mum. I was standing no more than 6 feet away as this entire event unfolded. As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of moment turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek. We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an Englishman. RED FRIDAYS Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Englishmen and women who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority'. We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for Country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions. Many British people, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of Britain supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that every Briton who supports our men and women afar will wear something red. By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make Great Britain on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football team If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family, It will not be long before Britain is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on. The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is...'We need your support and your prayers'... Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday.

This is my second and last card for today. The flowers are made from a flower punch and a scallop punch layered one on top of the other ,the frame around the image is made with a border punch from fiskars. Black card is from Crafters Companion and it has a Velvet texture to it white card from stash. The image is a sugarnellee stamp which i coloured with whisper pens and copic markers.

Orange Day

Here is to days card its been just like a summers day here where i live so i thought i would do this card on the orange theme. The main image is a Sugarnellee stamp coloured with whisper pens but the face has been coloured with Copic marker pens , the sweet little bird is from the Daisy & Dandelion range of stamps. I have used my nestabilities label dies to mount the image onto and the sentiment is also from the Daisy & Dandelion stamp range cut with the cuttlebug and the die i used is called sliders. The flower has been made from an xcut centre piece die its all the left over pieces put together to make a flower shape paper from my stash.

Well i have just returned from the NEC what a fab time i had. I had a lovely long chat with Sara and bought some Magnolia stamps and Sugar Nellie stamps i also got my first set of Copic pens, Nestabilities Label Dies and lots of the basic card, paper, DST, punches, glitter ,etc i think i did very well considering we didn't decide to go until this morning. Right i think its time for a lovely cup of tea put my feet up and look at my lovely goodies.

Hi, I thought i better get on with my own cards now i have finished the samples for Sara, so this is to days card for my neighbour's birthday tomorrow. I made it with my new Cricut Expression and i used the Zooballoo cartridge. The party hat and balloons are peel offs. I should of taken a photo of it instead of scanning it because its not a true colour, it is actually brown and orange.

My Craft Goodies from America.

Well I am back from my holidays to America we had a lovely time and while we where there I just had to do a little craft shopping I even managed to find a Lowes DIY store to buy some rubber for the Cuttle Bug folders so not to leave creases on the card. The Disney parks were out of this world, the hotel was good and food was lovely although we didn't eat that much with it been so hot. We met a lot of nice friendly American people and some lovely English people especially Sandy and Allen. My Daughter and I fed the Dolphins at Sea World which was a lovely experience we went on some great rides like The Simpsons at Universal Studios which was my favourite and Soarin at Epcot in Disney World, the Test Track was great fun too also at Epcot in Disney World.

Here goes a little about me:

1. My name is Tina and i have been married for 24 years and have three children, Danielle, Lee and Sophie.

2. I have been crafting most of my life i love stamping and trying new techniques , and i have just started doing my first scrapbook.

3. My pet hate is frogs i will run a mile if i see one and we have a few in our garden as we used to have a fish pond until my Husband was taken ill then we had to have it filled in as he wasn't allowed to clean it out in case he got an infection. I am sure the frogs just come back to give me a fright.

4. I am a tidy crafter i like everything in its place and when i have used something i always put it away. I hate to have an untidy desk and when i make a card i get everything i need for the card together before i start to make it.

I love to buy all the new gadgets that come out for crafting but i am on the band waggon at the moment as we are going to America in February for the first time, so i am saving like mad so i can buy lots of craft things over there. My Husband has always wanted to go to America and now the Doctors have said he can fly again we are going to have a holiday of a life time.

Hi, I made this card for my neighbour to give to here friends Son. I have used a Trim craft backing paper and the words and numbers were cut on my Cricut . I cut the circle out with my Nestibilites and the cuttlebug. The plate with the name Ryan on it is a book mark and can be removed.

I made this high chair for my Nephew and his partner they had a baby boy on Thursday night (7.08.2008) . Tommie Michael weighed in at 8.9oz Mother and baby are doing fine. I used Crafters Companion Papercraft CD for the linning of the highchair and Arty Farty Template for the high chair.

Here is to days card i have used the script embossing folder and the love embossing bars both are for the Cuttlebug. I then put green glitter glue in the center of the flowers and wrapped a gold ribbon around the flower.

Hi , i have been busy this week doing samples so i am late in making this Sketch Saturday Challenge card but here goes its done now.The backing papers are papermania and the border is from the Cute Companions CD, i have used one of Anita's stamps for the image and a silk padded heart, the greeting is a peel off. Good evening ,Well i have been playing with my Bind it All today and this is the first project that i have made with it. I am a member of Birthday Buddies over on Crafters Companion forum there is about 22 of us and we send each other a birthday card each year . I thought i would make myself a book to store all the Buddies names and addresses in and this is what i came up with. The Front and back covers are Zutter chipboard 6" x 6" which i covered in papermania papers and the circle wording was done on the computer,the little Indian girl and boy were cut on my Cricut using the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge. The inner pages have the Months of the year on them and i created these in Microsoft Word.

This was a simple card to make and its another for Wendy's Sketch Challenge over on Crafters Companion forum , I used a papermania backing paper and a bright yellow border at an angle across the card I cut the circle out on my Cricut and added a silk flower to middle of it. The little topper at the top of the card was found in my stash of goodies .

This is this weeks Sketch Saturday Challenge card. I used a baby pink square card and cream pearl paper for matting , the spotty paper is from Papermania Colossal Pastels range . I cut the ovals out on my Cricut, the Mouse is a stamp designed by Jayne Nestorenko called Cute Companions. Jayne partnered up with Sara from Crafters Companion for these stamps , there is also CD that goes with the Cute Companion stamps .I used my coloursoft pencils to colour the mouse and then blended the colour with sansodor.

Hi, I made this card for the Papertake Weekly Challenge, the theme was " To Die for" using die cuts, so i got my Cricut out and came up with this card. This is my first attempt at a challenge and i must say that i have really enjoyed it. I used the Mickey and friends cartridge and the George cartridge for the sentiment at the top of the card. I put the dark purple oval through my cuttlebug and attached Minnie on the top with foam pads and placed a bow at the top of the oval. I hope you like it.

I made this card last night its another American sized card the backing paper was put through my cuttlebug and the image was stamped with stazon ink and coloured with my colour soft pencils and then blended with sansodor. I tied the ribbon round the back ground before attaching it to the card.

I also made this card today i stamped the image on to a piece of scrap paper and then cut the dress out then stamped the same image again and placed the dress on the top , the rest of the image has been coloured with colour soft pencils and sansodor. I attached a fabric flower and a little pink diamante.The card has been put through my cuttlebug.

Good evening i have not posted for a few days as my Mam has been in hospital having major surgery she had an aneurysm and it got to danger point so it was a case of an operation or she could of died if it burst so i have been at the hospital everyday and looking after my Dad.
Good news is that the operation went well and they let her out yesterday but it will take 6 month's to recover.
